Site updates and moderation improvements

We’ve rolled out several improvements designed to give you a safer, clearer, and more manageable viewing experience.

Highlights

• • Channel activity and recent uploads: You can now see how recently a channel added new videos and how active a channel has been. This helps you quickly spot fresh content and active creators.
    

• • Video view counts: Each video now clearly shows the number of views so you can decide what to watch based on popularity and relevance. Important to note, the amount of views will refer to views on our site, not on YouTube directly, where on YouTube the video may have many more views.
    

• • Pause overlay removed: We removed the pause overlay that sometimes suggested videos viewers found inappropriate. Important to note, In order to have the view full screen option without the suggested video overlay, we removed the video’s default full-screen button and added our own, custom button for full-screen viewing.
    

• • Separate page per video: Whenever you play a video it now opens on its own page. This makes it easier for us to moderate and remove videos that are flagged as inappropriate, and gives you a cleaner, watching view.

• • Stronger backend filtering and moderation tools: We’ve improved filtering on the back end so flagged videos can be identified and removed more reliably. This includes fixes to prevent videos that have been removed from reappearing.

Our goal: These changes are intended to deliver three things: transparency (so you can see view counts and channel activity), better discovery (so you can find active and relevant creators faster), and safer moderation (so inappropriate content can be removed quickly and reliably). We believe these improvements result in a clearer, more trustworthy experience for everyone.
